Welcome to raxraxrax – please make yourself at home. Take your shoes off, fill up the kettle, turn on the telly and help yourself to the biscuits (please leave some for me).

While you’re having a nose around, expect to see a lot of stuff here about the world of PR and marketing. If this doesn’t float your boat, then stick around as there’ll be plenty of other random stuff that will be making an appearance on this blog – there’s bound to be something that you like.

What really interests me is the way that we can use the notion of community to engage each other in meaningful conversation in an online space. Just because we can’t necessarily see the whites of each others’ eyes (or the reds, depending on varying levels of insomnia) doesn’t mean that we can’t share ideas, explore new ways of thinking and ultimately crank up the dialogue to facilitate the exchange of original opinion, involving as many interested parties as possible.

Following on from this, perhaps we can help take the notion of conversation one step further and shed some light on the ways that brands and government organisations are trying (sometimes failing, occasionally winning) to reach out to consumers and citizens via these online communities. Who is succeeding? How are they succeeding? And how do they make you feel as an individual? After all, whether you’re from the world of PR and marketing or not – you’re still the end-user and as such deserve to be heard.

So don’t be shy! Join in the conversation.

Together. Right now.

Oh, and if you’ve already put the kettle on… mine’s a tea (two sugars).
